Welcome to Wild Mountain Outfitters!  We hope you enjoy your visit to our website.  Our goal is to help you have an awesome adventure in one of the most beautiful outdoor settings on earth.  When my great-grandfather homesteaded in the Uncompahgre Valley west of Ridgway, Colorado, nearly a hundred years ago, to find an elk was not an everyday occurrence.  Now during a good day of hunting it is likely.  I am the 4th generation, my son the 5th, from a family that learned to survive by living off the land, whether it was hunting, fishing, working the land or training and using horses daily in a mountain environment. We are using this foundation of outdoor experience over the past hundred years to help you have an unforgettable outdoor adventure.  Whether it’s chasing elk, deer, bear, lion, or taking a day ride to one of the most beautiful high mountain lakes on earth it is our goal to help you enjoy some of the wonderful experiences in the outdoors that we have.  You will notice in our photo gallery some of these experiences we’ve had in the past with friends and family and we hope you enjoy these.  We also have a section of photos that visitors to our base camp area have generously donated, many of these being professional photographers.  We are truly grateful for their donations!  We hope you enjoy their beautiful work as much as we have.  We hope that your visit to our website will help inspire you to reach your goal for adventure.  Please give us a call and we will personally visit with you about booking a trip of a lifetime!
